Ziqi Fan graduated with a PhD from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at the University of Florida. He worked on computational acoustics and developed numerical solvers for Helmholtz equation using the fast multipole methods (FMM) on heterogeneous systems (combination of CPUs and GPUs). He is now working as a software engineer on CUDA systems. Ziqi has been holding the belief that great engineers should excel at mathematical reasoning. Thus, besides his endeavor in improving coding skills, he is also interested in optimization and machine learning theory. He aspires solid mathematical knowledge in elementary set theory, numerical linear algebra, numerical optimization and probability theory.
