Ziqi Fan graduated his PhD from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at University of Florida. He worked on computational physics and developed numerical solvers for Helmholtz equation using the fast multipole methods (FMMs) on heterogeneous systems (combination of CPUs and GPUs). He is now working as a software engineer for CUDA systems. Ziqi holds the belief that great engineers should understand physics, keep learning math, and be good at mathematical reasoning. Thus, besides his efforts in improving coding skills, he is also interested in statistics and optimization. He also aspires more knowledge in the foundation of mathematics: mathematical logic and set theory.
