My PhD was in quantum and statistical mechanics at the University of Minnesota, specializing in applications of the semiclassical approximation (hence the name). In the last few years I've been interested in quantum foundations and quantum information, in particular sets of bipartite correlations, as well as their representation with linear algebra and convex algebraic geometry. The book Understanding Quantum Raffles was the fruit of this interest, written in collaboration with Mike Cuffaro and Michel Janssen. I've lately gotten in interested in the use of the ZX calculus to describe nontrivial entangled states and error-correcting codes.
