That depends: Assuming $\epsilon \in \mathbb R^+$:

  • If $\epsilon > 1$ then $\log(\epsilon) > 0$;
  • if $\epsilon = 1$ then $\log(\epsilon) = 0$;
  • if $0 < \epsilon < 1$ then $\log(\epsilon) < 0$.
