I recently learnt about dominant and repulsive eigenvectors. I noticed that the farther a line is initially from the dominant (though still closer than to the repulsive eigenvector), the more dramatic its change in gradient will be following the matrix transformation. Is there a way to predict the degree of change of the gradient based on the initial position of the line relative to the eigenvalue and the transformation matrix?
