How to display a 2d manifold of points?

I have created a manifold for a set of discrete (integer) points which lie in 2 dimensions.

The manfiold has dimensions of $$N\times N$$ and I have a metric which dictates the seperation between the points: $$\Delta x(x,y)$$ and $$\Delta y(x,y)$$ which varies throughout the manifold.

The metric is symmetric such that $$\Delta x(x,y)=\Delta x(y,x)$$ and $$\Delta y(x,y)=\Delta y (y,x)$$.

How do I visualise this in python for example?
