Yes sorry, I wrote it that way because I was comparing it to a simple equation of the form ab = c where I would solve for a like this: a = c / b. I should have used the correct form though.

@Arturo: A, B, C can have whatever value I like, so I can say that they will not be equal to (1, 0, 0),(0, 1, 0),(0, 0, 1) and will not be a basis for R3 either.
