Hi, I'm Willie Wheeler, and I'm a Principal Applications Engineer for a leading provider of online travel services. I have 17 years of professional software development experience, mostly around web application development using Java, JEE and Spring.

With Joshua White, I wrote the book Spring in Practice, for Manning Publications.

I run the Spring in Practice blog, which has technical articles about Java, JEE, Spring, IT management, usability and some other related topics.

Finally, I also run the new Zkybase blog on devops.

comment Are these two predicate statements equivalent or not?
The intent was to offer something intuitive and simple for a beginner to understand. It's hard for me to believe that the top voted answer, with its Hilbert deduction systems, continuity definitions, etc. would make sense to a person asking this sort of question. It may not add much info for somebody who TA'ed logic courses. As to real world analogies--every intro logic book I have uses them to explain semantics involving multiple quantifiers.
