comment Is mathematics one big tautology?
(i) The TO tagged his question as "soft" and "philosophy", so a philosopher's view should be relevant. (ii) Gödel was born 1906, the Tractatus has been written during WW I and was completed 1918. So Wittgenstein had no chance to misunderstand Gödel - at least not then. (iii) Not to speak does not mean not to think. Couldn't that be what Wittgenstein meant with "pass over in silence"?
