Hi there, unfortunately I am still unable to find the representation of A with respect to the basis. I can derive P but think I am lacking in some knowledge on the basis part.

@Omnomnomnom Sorry but shouldn't 2v + u be: 2 \cdot (0,1,0)^T + 1 \cdot (-1,1,1)^T? That will give (-1,3,1)^T?

Yes I understand the diagonal consists of the eigenvalues which is \lambda = -1 and \lambda = 2 with a multiplicity of 2. But how does one determine the superdiagonal and its entries?
