@AndréNicolas: Again I follow that logic. I just don't understand why we want 2.5% in the tail. What about the problem draws the conclusion that we want the probability of 2.5%? I thought we wanted probability of 95%? What does c represent in this?

Thank you! What about the case $f(-x)$? Since $-1 \leqslant x \leqslant 1$, does this mean that $1 \geqslant -x \geqslant -1$ ?
