thanks so far, I didn't know I could handle cross products like that. I've transformed this into $5v(w \times v)-15w(w \times v)$ although this looks a bit tidier, how can I compute that? Is there a relation between norm and cross product I'm missing here?

isn't cos(2pi / 3) something like 0.99something?
