I have a background in physics (nonlinear dynamics), but I work in neuroscience. Here I mainly develop statistical methods to analyze and model EEG and fMRI data. Methods are almost exclusively implemented in Matlab, but I occasionally also use C, bash/sed/awk, Perl, Python, and Java. I try to stick to Linux as far as possible, it serves me well. I like the formatting brilliance of (La)TeX, but prefer Markdown (via pandoc) as a frontend to do the actual writing.
