Interesting. After reading "normalization" I agree... but another thing that came to mind was "transformation" because the mapping function could be considered a transformation. Do you agree?

By the way, when I learned about this, the classic question was "How many ways can you rearrange the letters in the word 'Mississippi'". So it's all about permutations and avoiding multi-counting results.

I would downvote but don't have enough rep yet. Please listen to @TCL. You say 101 is the best choice. Would you still think it's the best choice if the probability of hitting a sum of 95 is 1/10^100? I don't think so :-).

Please make the question more clear. As @chroma stated, you don't really ask a clear question. Are you interested in which of {101, ..., 106} has the highest probability? That's what I'm assuming.
