comment Is the 3x+1 problem solved?
@barakmanos Academic acceptance/validity? I don't know what that means. As far as I know, no one has refuted my paper. The conjecture is still unproven. But see this article: arxiv.org/abs/1105.2103 The author is saying basically the same thing that I am in a different way about the Collatz Conjecture and the Riemann Hypothesis.

comment How do I best learn Gödel's incompleteness theorem?
I have found that paradoxically reading the original paper of a subject is usually not the best way to learn a subject. However, reading Wikipedia is usually a great way to get an introduction to a subject.

comment Has the Collatz Conjecture been proven to be unprovable?
Actually, reading Conway's paper over again, he mentions the ZF axioms and extensions of it in the appendix. But I think my point is still valid. See Freeman Dyson's comment here: edge.org/q2005/q05_9.html Dyson never mentions any axioms.

comment Has the Collatz Conjecture been proven to be unprovable?
@HenningMakholm Your criticism can be used to refute most math papers. For instance, did Wiles explicitly mention the axioms he used to prove FLT in his paper? (I'm not sure, but I think you get what I'm saying.) Furthermore, John Conway believes that the Collatz Conjecture is unprovable and he never explicitly mentions axioms in his paper. Are there any other matrices besides diagonal matrices? That's really my question.
