Ok, I can see that it is the Taylor series expansion now. But how exactly do I move to the 0.5 * (e^x+e^-x) conclusion? Thanks!

I do not know how to rigorously prove it is the only one. As from the question it seems that for infinite sets one can get many topologies using the same metric.
