23 yrs old, just a few years out of college. Currently at a startup where I code mostly in PHP and Javascript, lot of database use/design too.

Good answer, and in a lot of ways the only one. Unfortunately the danger is that whatever fallacy leads to an incorrect answer may be repeated when coding the simulation. I guess ideally you ask a friend to code the sim -- BEFORE you discuss the problem
