Only problem I see with these, is that when one is shaky on the laws simplifying might be a problem.

Well sqrt(-25) / sqrt(-1) = 5, so the explanation doesn't seem quite complete.

Not really what you wrote. You wrote that "people become right handed as they grow older" which either means age -> right-handedness or age <-> right-handedness. But if there is another factor that influences both, those statements may be false. With the question as stated nothing can be concluded, more information is needed. Or do you believe in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_the_octopus ?
