@DwB the choice has changed from 1 in 3 with even probability, to 1 in 2 with uneven probability. So you're right about 1 in 2, but it doesn't translate in 50%. I wrote a different explanation here that might help: math.stackexchange.com/a/611881/116229

Big mistake here! The eliminated door is meaningful, because Monty doesn't make a random choice.
