Thank you for your help. I was thinking there was some equation that would accomplish the same effect. Most problems could be solved programmatically with elementary math, but they are usually inefficient. I probably should move the question over to game.stack and work on a clarified and more specific question.

@StevenStadnicki Can do. I fix the image now. What I mean by entirely is that all 6 vertices (the entire area of the hex) must fall within the confines of the arc.

@BrainMScott, yes I see the error of my ways there. I just was getting frustrated at not being able to figure this out. Why am I not able to go backwards? If I know every outcome going forward why can't I backtrack?

@Andre Nicolas - Do I have to do that to all other variables in the equation? for instance if that equation was instead 60 = 40 / X + x^2 + X it would come out to be 60X = 40 + X^3 + x^2?
