You're quite right, I want to add $x_i \ge 0$ as a feasibility constraint, otherwise there is an arbitrage. But all vectors in the problem are on $\mathbb{R}_+$.

That's fine. The standard argument goes $a_n = \sum_{i}^n a_i-\sum_{i}^{n-1}a_i\to L-L=0$ as $n \to \infty$.
