When I asked this question, I didn't know that it was positive both ways. Approached from the right, it is $-\infty$ and from the left, it is $+\infty$. How do I tell if it is positive or negative infinity without graphing it or plugging in numbers? I'm interested to find a way to solve it without plugging in numbers (even if it's in your head) or graphing it. It makes more sense to me if I can understand how the math works in an absolute sense.
