The maximum number of straight making ranks @Gerry Myerson: Well, if the holdem hand is 46 and the board is 7895, there are two possible straights: 5 6 789 (as you mention), but also 4 5 6 78. The latter uses both holdem cards. It does not matter that 5 6 789 is a higher straight. I thought of this question while playing Omaha poker - in this context the restrictions make sense. Maybe I should have framed it as an Omaha question, but that would've required even more poker term definitions. |
