Is this symbol used at all in math? It looks to me like an ‘A’ with a lower-case omega on top (although I'm not completely sure that the thing on top is an omega).

I am asking this question because I work on a piece of software that features a math editor. An alpha user of the software was complaining that he/she couldn't create this notation. They claimed it was some kind of vector notation. We weren’t given context by user, just that they couldn’t create.

As already noted in the tag excerpt: please do say where you saw this notation being used. – J. M. Nov 30 '11 at 15:04

Do they at least say what character is that? Is it just $\stackrel{\omega}{A}$? – user13838 Nov 30 '11 at 15:29

Was it the Angstrom symbol Å ? – Peter Phipps Nov 30 '11 at 17:03
No, it's not the Angstrom symbol. – Paul Reiners Nov 30 '11 at 18:59
How about an uppercase A with a tilde à ? (I'm going to stop looking now.) – Peter Phipps Nov 30 '11 at 19:49
