# Likely related elements

I have lists of pair like so :

KHLM1800, (a,b,c)
KHLM1900, (a,b,d)
KHLM1840, (a,b,c,d)
KHLM1845, (a,b,c)
TCMB9001, (a,c)
.
.
.

Naively it looks like KHLM and (a,b) have a strong relationship. (1800 and c ) and (40 , d) are some how related ( last one is seems to be weakly related).

Is there a way to quantify the relating parts to each other and the strengths of the relationship? By "way" I mean what type of algorithms deal with somewhat similar type of questions?

Title was the best I could come up with

It's hard for me to tell what you're asking. Could you supply some context, please? –  Andrew Uzzell Apr 2 at 13:45
