I am currently undertaking a piece of surveying coursework using least squares. I have a set of 6 ground control points that have been updated using new measurements of the ranges between the 6 control points. I now have to update these updated control points using new accuracy information for the original control points (taken in the 1970s), and calculate the absolute accuracy of the new estimates of the control points, yet cannot find anywhere that would tell me how to do this? We have been given the information on how to calculate relative accuracy, with the goal to compare absolute and relative accuracy.
