Using Brook's theorem, if a graph is not complete or cyclic then $\chi(G)\leq\triangle(G)$. Since $\triangle(G)>2$, therefore $G$ is not cyclic. Hence $G$ is not complete or cyclic. Thus, $\chi(G)\leq\triangle(G)$. |
