# Inverse linear transformation

I am trying to find a real life inverse linear transform which can be used to motivate students. Does anyone have an example or two? I am looking for an example which will have a real impact. Thanks in advance.

How about the rotation in $\mathbb{R}^2$ or $\mathbb{R}^3$? It is a nice geometric example. –  Dennis Gulko Oct 17 '12 at 16:38
Image obtained from pinhole camera, is composition of projection ${\mathbb{R}}^3 \rightarrow {\mathbb{R}}^2$ and linear transformation –  M. Strochyk Oct 17 '12 at 16:48
