Please don't only provide the question, need to know the process of your approach to it. – Did Oct 3 '12 at 5:50

It would still be good if you gave some idea of your approach to the problem, how far you got, where you got stuck, and so on. – Gerry Myerson Oct 3 '12 at 5:56

Let $x$ be the average age of the team members. Let $y$ be the average age, excluding the captain and the wicket keeper. Let $T$ be the total of all the ages. Then you have an equation relating $T$ and $x$; an equation relating $x$ and $y$; and an equation relating $T$ and $y$. Write them all down and manipulate until you have a solution for $x$. Go ahead, get started, come back for more advice if you get stuck (or post the answer if you can get it).
