I was reading something and came across the expression 'Non-Linear Coupled Equations'. What are those? The only thing I can see with coupled in it is 'Coupled-Cluster (CC)' on wikipedia, and to say that it is intimidating is somewhat of an understatement.

A fancy term for non-linear equations in more than one variable where there is no obvious way of separating the equations into a collection of equations each in one variable. – copper.hat May 31 '12 at 23:02
