# Need Help in solving differential equations

use maple to solve the following system of differential equations: $f''- g' +g = \sin x$ & $g'- g + f=\cos x$

subject to the initial conditions: $f(0)= 2, g(0)=1, f'(0)=-1$

Hint: adding the the two differential equations, we get $f''+f=\sin x+\cos x$. This is a nonhomogenous second order linear equation with constant coefficients, which can be solved. – Paul Feb 26 '12 at 13:22
He didn't say "use your brain and think about things." He said "use maple." :) – Cam McLeman Feb 26 '12 at 13:52
@CamMcLeman: haha. Anyway, I think we can simplify it before using maple. – Paul Feb 26 '12 at 13:58
So, what was your attempt in Maple syntax? Maybe we can tell you what was wrong with it. – GEdgar Feb 26 '12 at 14:39
