I need something like the cubic function $y=x^3$ rotated 90 degrees. Which function is that?

$y=-\root3\of x$

But x cannot be negative using this function. Are there other ways? – Leo Jiang Jan 30 '12 at 2:18
@Linksku: yes it can. – Qiaochu Yuan Jan 30 '12 at 2:28
I'm not very good at functions. According to the following link, if x is negative, then it curves downwards: Am I missing something? – Leo Jiang Jan 30 '12 at 2:43
Try this. (Wolframalpha only seems to know the complex variant of the cube root.) – Myself Jan 30 '12 at 2:46
